Child trafficking is a grave and pervasive issue that affects millions of children worldwide. The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) reports that
one in every three trafficking victims is a child
with girls disproportionately affected, often trafficked for sexual exploitation and forced marriages. These children are stripped of their innocence and future, making child trafficking not only a violation of human rights but also a severe threat to their safety and dignity.
Today, there are 49.6 million people trapped in modern slavery worldwide, and 12 million of them are children (International Labour Organization, United Nations). In the United States, sex trafficking is the most common type of trafficking, with reports of child sex trafficking in all 50 states (Polaris, National Center for Missing and Exploited Children). This is not just a violation of rights—it's a massive, illicit industry, generating $150 billion annually and making human trafficking the second most profitable illegal industry in the U.S. (UNICEF).
As alarming as these statistics are, the true scale of the problem is likely even greater, as many cases go unreported. Traffickers exploit the most vulnerable among us, using deception, coercion, and force to manipulate children and their families. The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated these challenges, leading to a significant reduction in the number of trafficking convictions globally and increasing the risk to children living in conflict zones or under socio-economic stress.
Our Mission: Empowering Anti-Trafficking Nonprofits
Hope Breaks Through is a mission-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to exposing the harsh realities of child trafficking through compelling and educational video content. We partner with anti-trafficking organizations to create customized, high-quality videos that amplify their voices and inspire decisive action against child exploitation. Our mission is to educate, inspire, and empower individuals and communities to protect the innocence and rights of every child. Together, we are breaking through the darkness and bringing hope to those in need.

This mission is at the heart of everything we do. We understand that awareness is the first step toward action. By creating videos that shine a light on the grim realities of child trafficking, we empower nonprofits to spread critical messages, educate their communities, and inspire others to join the fight.
The Power of Video in Raising Awareness
Video content is one of the most effective ways to communicate complex and emotional messages. Research shows that video is highly engaging and has the ability to evoke strong emotional responses, making it a crucial tool in raising awareness about child trafficking. According to a report by HubSpot, 54% of consumers want to see more video content from brands and organizations they support. This preference for video makes it an essential tool for nonprofits working to spread awareness and inspire action.
At Hope Breaks Through, we create videos that not only inform but also inspire viewers to take action—whether that’s by donating, volunteering, or simply spreading the word. Our approach is twofold: we offer ready-to-go videos that nonprofits can quickly customize with their own branding, and we also provide custom video production services for organizations with specific needs. This flexibility ensures that every nonprofit, regardless of size or budget, has access to the resources they need to make a difference.
For example, one of our powerful 28-second PSAs was created by the founder of Hope Breaks Through before the nonprofit was officially launched. This PSA was designed to raise awareness about a critical hand signal that children can use if they are in danger of trafficking. The video demonstrates how a simple gesture can alert others to a child's distress and potentially save lives. It’s an early example of the impactful, life-saving content that Hope Breaks Through is committed to producing, helping organizations amplify their message and protect vulnerable children.

Looking Ahead
As we continue to grow and expand our reach, we are committed to remaining at the forefront of the fight against child trafficking. We will keep innovating, creating new content, and forming new partnerships to ensure that our mission has the maximum possible impact. We envision a world where every child is safe, free, and able to live with dignity. Through powerful video storytelling, we aim to eradicate child trafficking by empowering communities to take action and bring lasting hope to the most vulnerable.
